Three dimensional reconstruction of coastal bathymetry using TOPSAR c-band

چکیده
This paper reports on a study carried out for the generation of three-dimensional (3D) ocean bathymetry using airborne TOPSAR data. The main objective of this study is to utilize fuzzy arithmetic for constructing ocean bathymetry from polarized remote sensing data such as a TOPSAR image. In doing so, two three-dimensional surface models, the Volterra model and a fuzzy B-spline model which construct a global topological structure between the data points were used to support an approximation of real surface. The best reconstruction of coastal bathymetry of the test site in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia, was obtained with polarised C bands TOPSAR acquired with VV polarization. With 10 m spatial resolution of TOPSAR data, an accuracy of (root mean square) ± 0.03 m was found with Cvv band.

3D Bathymetry Reconstruction from Airborne Topsar Polarized Data
This paper introduces a new methods for three-dimensional(3D) ocean bathymetry reconstruction using Airborne TOPSAR Synthetic Aperture data. The new method is based on integration between Fuzzy B-spline and Volterra algorithm. Volterra algorithm is used to simulate the ocean surface current from TOPSAR data. Then, ocean surface current information used as input for continuity equation to estima...

Remote sensing techniques in real time could be a major tool for bathymetry mapping which could produce synoptic data overlarge areas at extremely low cost. In contrast, conventional techniques such as singleor multi-beam ship-borne echoes are costly and time-consuming, especially when large areas are being surveyed (Marghany et al., 2009b). The ocean bathymetry features can image by radar in c...

Multispectral imaging (MSI) data collected at multiple angles over shallow water provide analysts with a unique perspective of bathymetry in coastal areas. Observations taken by DigitalGlobe’s WorldView-2 (WV-2) sensor acquired at 39 different view angles on 30 July 2011 were used to determine the effect of acquisition angle on bathymetry derivation. The site used for this study was Kailua Bay ...
